Diamonds and Heartbreak.

"Merry Christmas. Thank you for leaving your car door unlocked. Instead of stealing your car I gave you a present. Hopefully this will land in the hands of someone you love, for my love is gone now. Merry Christmas to you,"

That's what the note said. A 37 year old forgot to lock his car at a commuter train station near Boston. Instead of thieves breaking in, someone left this note and a diamond ring appraised at $15,000 in his car.

It makes me wonder. Did his love die? Did he see her in the arms of another? Did she realize she didn't love him any more? Did he dump her in the heat of the moment and now he regrets it? Did he wake up one morning and just find her gone?

It's beautiful the strange poetic randomness of this act.

Happy New Year All!
